Experiencing the loss of a baby is an unimaginable journey, and no one should have to navigate it alone. Support groups and mental health services can provide comfort and guidance to parents facing loss.*

How to limit unwanted mail, phone calls & emails

Be prepared for the fact that nothing will eliminate these contacts completely but these are some suggestions for limiting them. 

  1. Go to the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) website: https://www.dmachoice.org. DMA choice reduces promotional mail offers. 
  2. Choose "Consumer Choices" which will take you to a page explaining your options in more detail 

REDUCING COMMERCIAL MAIL/CATALOGS 

  1. Go to the DMA website 
  2. You can use the website to print a registration form. Sign it and mail it to DMA Choice, Consumer Preferences, Box 900 Cos Cob, CT 06807 
  3. A nominal processing fee is required.

REDUCING NATIONAL ADVERTISING PHONE CALLS & EMAILS 

Option #1 

  • The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) on the DMA website puts you on a do-not-call list for 10 years 
  • There is a fee 

Option #2 

  • Email Preference Service: Reduce unsolicited commercial messages to your personal email account. 

FTC Do Not Call list

  1. The FTC’S Do-Not-Call list puts you on the list permanently until you remove your number -Call 888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to register OR 
  2. Go to https://www.donotcall.gov/register 
  3. This is free service through the DMA website. You can register up to three phone numbers and on emails.
