Hartford HealthCare conducts clinical trials in the majority of therapeutic specialties. Our healthcare system includes five acute care hospitals as well as three behavioral health institutions. In addition we have a large affiliated medical group. Currently, the Hartford HealthCare IRB oversees close to 800 active research projects. Our annual research revenue is approximately 10 million dollars per year.
We currently have very active clinical trial programs in our Cancer Institute, Heart and Vascular Institute and the Neuroscience Institute. Our Cancer Institute is affiliated with Memorial Sloan Kettering and actively collaborates with them on clinical trial initiatives. The Heart and Vascular Institute has research strengths in Preventive Cardiology, Interventional and Valve surgery, Electrophysiology and Heart Failure.
